Students must complete the Professional Ethics module also. Some students will have exemptions from certain ACCA exam papers, depending upon what degree, etc., they may hold. This can be checked from the ACCA website www.accaglobal.com

link: http://www.accaglobal.com/join/exemptions/ but then needs to be confirmed with ACCA Ireland directly.

ACCA Ireland Contact details in Dublin are:-

ACCA Ireland, 9 Leeson Park, Dublin 6, Ireland

Phone (01) 4988900

e-mail info@ie.accaglobal.com

web: www.accaglobal.com/ireland

Within Griffith College, for the ACCA Part-Time Courses, classes consist of one evening per paper per week. There will also be the odd weekend ACCA day class for some papers (not every weekend) but maybe once or twice during the term. These will be listed on the timetable.

ACCA Distance Learning courses, in the Irish variant, are also available at Griffith College.

For your ACCA course, students can take a minimum of one ACCA exam paper per term or a maximum of four exam papers per term. We would never recommend that students take the maximum of four as this would mean attending the College for your ACCA lectures four evenings per week and also some weekend ACCA lectures.

The ACCA course takes places twice per year:-

February to June For the June examinations

August to December For the December examinations

On average, students might enrol for two to three ACCA exam papers per term. If they were starting from the first ACCA exam Paper (F1) they would probably then take approx. 3 years to complete the course, i.e. 2 for each term (4 each year) = 3 + years.

If, however, students have exemptions, the ACCA course will take much less time to complete.

Online College Courses: Putting Yourself Through School

Some college students have the benefit of being able to attend traditional classes without the need to work to support themselves. Other students, however, must hold down a part-time or even a full-time job while putting themselves through school. Managing the workload and time commitment of work and school can be challenging and stressful, and this is even truer when you attend a school that does not offer the flexibility of evening and weekend courses. Many students who are putting themselves through school are now turning to online college courses for their education.

Anytime you attend live courses, whether those classes are held during evenings, weekends or daytime hours, you must ensure that your work schedule doesn't overlap into your school hours. Registering for classes each semester can be a real trick as you try to manage finding the right classes you need at times that won't interfere with your work schedule.

Inevitably, at least one of the classes you need will be filled for the time slot you need, which causes the need to hassle with shuffling work and school hours around. When you attend online college courses, however, you will enjoy the convenience of taking your classes around your own schedule. You don't have to sign up for a certain time slot, but instead you just need to make sure you find time to do your schoolwork each week. You can even do your schoolwork at different times each week, and this flexibility is a true benefit for busy students who are working to put themselves through school.

There are now dozens of schools around the country today that offer online college courses, and there are accredited online degree programs in a variety of disciplines as well. You can really take the stress and hassle out of earning your degree while you work when you earn your degree online.

Architecture Schools - Available Degree Programs

The art and science that goes into creating structures starts with the use of architects that are trained in the design and construction of a building. The exclusive knowledge needed to be an architect has to be earned through a higher education degree. Degree programs are available through architecture schools in order to help students obtain the quality training they will need to enter the field.

To become an architect a bachelor's degree is required. In order to advance inside a career in a particular area of architecture most students work through a master's degree program where study is highly focused on broadening student's knowledge. PhD programs are for students that want to enter teaching, government, or a consultation career where a high level of experience and specialization is required. These three programs make up the overall field of architecture.

An associate's degree can be acquired but students should expect to only enter assistant positions inside the industry.

All the fundamental knowledge needed to succeed as an architect can be gained through a bachelor's degree program. Education gives students a broad overview, which includes topics on design, technology, and history.

A typical four-year program teaches students core courses in the first two years. Basic design, history, environmental control, research, and professional practice are included as basic courses.
The final two years students explore the architecture of different locales and spend a high amount of time in studio courses. These courses focus on helping students gain creative and technical skills that are incorporated into building projects and group assignments.

Students gain the necessary skills to sit for licensing exams and become a practicing architect.

Further education at the master's degree level will provide students with even more in depth knowledge of the field.

Students working through a master's degree curriculum should expect it to include digital design training, and studies in structural engineering, building science, and theory. Most programs allow students to enter a specialty where they can work almost exclusively with architectural technology and green architecture. Knowledge is gained in how the roles of design, aesthetic procedure, and material use work together to form architecture. To finish out study and prepare students for the workplace a physical structural design has to be completed from beginning to end. This practical course shows that students can pull together their knowledge and create buildings.

For students that have gained work experience PhD programs are available that allow students to enter the teaching or consulting phase of a career as an architect. Students work with the five major areas of study to develop a strong academic base to utilize inside the industry. Training in computer aided drafting, building science, design, environmental design, history, and social architecture make up the five main areas of study. Within these areas students work to research and fully understand every aspect of architecture. At the end of two years students can enter the field qualified to teach others and consult with organizations on research or building projects.

Architecture is a discipline of study that requires a high level of skill and knowledge. Students that want to be architects have to complete a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or other agency to do so. Numerous architecture schools and colleges offer this degree distinction and students can begin education when they are ready.

How to Organize Your Notebooks For College Courses

Being organized can go a long way toward helping you succeed in college. Organization does not come naturally to all of us but fortunately it can be learned. Taking good notes in class and keeping them organized is very important and will help you make good grades.

You should get a different color notebook for each of your classes. Color coding is a mental short-cut. When you look at your notebooks before going to class, you don't have to even read the labels. Simply look for the right color. It is quicker to think "Red equals English 101" rather than take the time to look through your notebooks to find your English notebook.

Also, be sure to write your name, address (dorm and room number), and phone number in each notebook in case it gets lost.

May sure your notebook has at least five color dividers. Again, color is a mental short-cut for you.

Also, make sure you have a supply of three hole punched page protectors. Page protectors are clear plastic pages with three holes punched in them that you can slide your frequently referred to documents into. For instance your syllabus should go in a page protector. You can also purchase a single page three hole puncher to punch holes in handouts that are not pre-hole punched or simply put them in page protectors also.

Here is how you should divide your different colored tab sections:

First section (Red Tab or Red colored tabbed divider) - Place your syllabus and any class handouts in this section. Use page protectors to keep these in good readable condition. Keep these in chronological (date) order.

Second section (Green Tab or Green colored tabbed divider) - Place your class notes in this section in chronological (date) order.

Third Section (Yellow Tab or Yellow colored tabbed divider) - Classwork you are working on or are ready to turn in goes in this section.

Fourth Section (Blue Tab or Blue colored tabbed divider) - Graded tests and graded assignments

Fifth Section (Orange or Orange colored tabbed divider) - Extra paper for note taking.

Also include a hole punched zipper bag to hold extra pencils, pens and reinforcements (round sticky things to repair torn holes in punched paper).

If you use a notebook computer for class, give each class its own folder and have a separate file within each folder for each day's notes.
